The Tribune-Herald would like to thank the community for supporting Keiki Day, a May 6 charity event that benefited Parents and Children Together.

On Keiki Day, PACT volunteers — along with community VIPs, radio personalities, sponsors and Tribune-Herald employees — hit the streets of Hilo to sell copies of the Keiki Day edition of the Tribune-Herald.

The proceeds from all sales and donations went directly to PACT, a Hawaii-based not-for-profit family services agency.

More than 3,700 papers were sold on the streets and through E. Hawaii schools.

Sponsors of this event included KTA Super Stores, Big Island Toyota, DeLuz Chevrolet, HFS Federal Credit Union, Kea’au Shopping Center, Boys &Girls Club of the Big Island, Keiki Dental Specialists, Day-Lum Inc., Kalani, Alice Adee M.D., Bay Clinic, Netcom Enterprises, Hilo Hongwanji Preschool, Discount Fabric Warehouse, Walters Electric, United Way, Kozmic Cones, Big Isle Moving, Urgent Care and S. Tokunaga Store.

A special thanks to Walmart, Sig Zane Designs, Ken’s House of Pancakes and Starbucks for their participation.
